Construct & Renovate

Built by the People Who Make the Loam

Our own team builds and renovates grass cricket squares and tennis courts, from the first survey of the ground to the final sowing, in the loams we make ourselves.

Surrey Loams
Making sports loams since 1968 GameChanger tested and proven at Loughborough & the ECB

Two services, carried out by our own team: construction of a new square or court, or the rebuild of an existing one; and renovation of a surface already in play.

Construction

New Squares & Courts — or Rebuilt Ones

For a site with no square or court yet, or an existing one dug out and rebuilt.
Classic GOSTD BuildBase & Seed Bed Loams
GameChanger BuildOne System Throughout
  1. Site Survey & LevelsWe visit, survey the ground and set the levels before any work begins.
  2. Excavation & DrainageWe strip out the old surface or dig out the new site, and install drainage where it is needed.
  3. Laying & Consolidating the LoamBase loam and seed bed loam are laid and consolidated in stages — 150mm of base beneath 100mm of seed bed — so the layers key together into one continuous profile.
  4. SowingWe finish the build by sowing the seed bed.

Sown, Never TurfedNo turf is grown in our GOSTD or GameChanger loams, and no commercially grown turf is compatible with them. The loam is the surface that makes the ball bounce — laying turf on top would undo the whole construction.
